Amy Snyder, LMFT
Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist

My name is Amy Snyder, and I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, LMFT # 45928. I like to think that I am a professional helper, explorer, and lifelong student - I find myself constantly growing and learning each day. Our ever-changing world around us can be very overwhelming at times. Life can be difficult and often challenging. Even the best of us need a helping hand along the path we call life. Going to therapy is a brave step in that positive direction. Understanding ourselves and our internal workings are so important for our emotional and mental heath wellness. By building trust, mutual respect and honest collaboration in therapy, we will develop an ideal foundation for positive change.

Clinical Experience

I completed my undergraduate degree and Masters degree at SDSU. I completed my traineeship at Rady’s Children’s Hospital during my last year at SDSU, and then went on to work in a group home for adolescents and young adults in the Santa Barbara area. Locally, I have provided intensive case management services for at-risk San Diego youth and their families who were identified as experiencing difficulties associated with behavioral, emotional, and substance abuse issues. I have significant experience with young children and young adults and work with all ages for a variety of issues, including Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, Parenting, Grief/Bereavement and a Growth Mindset. Lastly, I have practiced yoga for over 17 years to assist with a healthy life balance. I hope to model a growth mindset with empathy and compassion as my cornerstones. I’m committed to helping you live more fully by taking an active stance toward life.
