Tanya L. Hilber, PsyD, PMH-C
Licensed Psychologist
President | Clinical Supervisor
I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist (PSY 24479) based in San Diego and the founder of Hilber Psychological Services. As an interactive and compassionate therapist, I draw from both psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral approaches to offer practical, individualized support. My goal is to help you build a healthy, fulfilling life by fostering balance across your relationships, daily routines, physical health, and emotional well-being.
When emotional distress or unhelpful behavioral patterns begin to interfere with your personal, social, or professional life, therapy can offer clarity, relief, and renewed direction. By addressing the root of these challenges, we can restore balance and help you reconnect with a strong and confident sense of self.
In therapy, I offer a supportive and collaborative space where you can feel heard and empowered. I combine evidence-based strategies with thoughtful feedback to help you navigate life’s challenges, deepen your self-awareness, and build on your strengths. Through this personalized approach, I aim to help you grow into the person you aspire to be.
Clinical Experience
I specialize in working with children, teens, and adults experiencing anxiety, ADHD/ADD, and Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs) such as postpartum depression and anxiety. I also work closely with individuals navigating parenting challenges, trauma, depression, relationship issues, stress management, life transitions, and women's mental health—especially during midlife.
Over the course of my career, I’ve had the opportunity to support individuals, couples, and families in a variety of roles, including child and teen therapy, play therapy, behavioral consultation, group therapy, parenting support, and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy. I hold a Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C) and am passionate about supporting new parents during times of major life adjustment.
My clinical training includes work at SD Psychological Services, San Diego Family Justice Center, AIU Counseling & Psychological Services Center, Center for Autism Research & Evaluation (CARES), Neighborhood Healthcare Behavioral Health, Community Research Foundation Crisis Center, and Autism Intervention Milwaukee (AIM).
I also have extensive training in neurofeedback, a non-invasive, brain-based therapy used to support children, teens, and adults. Neurofeedback can be highly effective for managing ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma, sleep disturbances, migraines, and physiological regulation. It is a valuable tool for enhancing focus, emotional balance, and overall well-being.
