Tanya L. Hilber, PsyD
Licensed Psychologist, PSY24479
I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in San Diego (PSY 24479). I am an interactive, empathic therapist and I work from a combination of a practical psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral orientations. I believe that to be healthy and successful, we need to find a balance in our lives – a balance with our daily life, relationships, physical health, and mental health.
Sometimes your sense of self or your symptoms are not meeting personal, social, or professional needs due to an imbalance or extreme actions. By growing and working on life issues, you can have a positive and confident sense of self.
Through support, practical feedback, and guidance on your path, you can effectively address your life challenges and find your balance by becoming aware of perceptions and emotional complexities. A highly personalized approach can help you to understand yourself, build on strengths, find your balance, and become the person you want to be.
I specialize in working with children, teens, and adults with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity (ADHD/ADD) and anxiety. I also enjoy working with women's issues, midlife transitions, perinatal moods and anxiety, perinatal mood and anxiety, postpartum depression, parenting, autism spectrum disorders, trauma, depression, relationship issues, stress management, personal growth, life transitions, and children's life stressors.
I have several years of experience with children, teens, and adults in the mental health field, including individuals, couples, and child therapy, play therapy, behavioral consultation, parenting, group therapy, and applied behavioral analysis (ABA) therapy. My experience consists of work at SD Psychological Services, SD Center for Counseling at the San Diego Family Justice Center and training at AIU Counseling & Psychological Services Center, Center for Autism Research & Evaluation (CARES), Neighborhood Healthcare Behavioral Health, Community Research Foundation Crisis Center, and Autism Intervention Milwaukee (AIM).
